Pamper Yourself

What a busy couple of weeks I've been through! It's finals week at school and that only means one thing: no time for myself. Which is why it is even more important to treat yourself! Life can get so hectic and crazy and busy and out of control. It's not fair to let yourself suffer at the hands of outside sources. This past week I went to Mystic, CT to visit my fiancé for Thanksgiving. It was wonderful! While I was there I got a french gel manicure. It's always wonderful to have someone else pamper you for once. Do you know what it means when someone else is pampering you? It means you can't control what is going on. It means you have to take a step back and breathe. It means that you can collect yourself and forget the busy world around you and focus on you, which is the most important thing you can do for yourself!

We are so busy trying to keep ourselves alive when everything gets out of control. It's nice to take a breather from this lifestyle and allow someone else to do something wonderful for you. Attached is the photo of the finished product. I hope you like them! I sure do. Make sure you find your release from life this week and pamper yourself, feed yourself something wonderful, nap your stress off, and somehow, some way TREAT yourself!

Until next time loves,

Melissa

Here We Go!

Hello everyone!!

Melissa here. I have always had an interest in starting a blog but could never figure out just exactly what I wanted it to be about. How to stay interesting, relevant, and make it fun were all things that had to be considered! I decided that because blogging can be time consuming and thus easily dropped in a busy life style, I will be blogging once a week about an experience I've had in the realms of "treating yourself" which is the central focus of my blog.

Since graduating college, becoming engaged, moving to Boston, starting graduate school, and figuring out what this adulthood business is all about, I've come across a mantra that I connect with most: "Treat yourself." Treat yourself and treat yourself often. Now this is not to say that I am condoning daily, extravagant purchases that you have somehow justified, leaving you guilt free. What I'm saying is don't be afraid to buy that accessory you've always wanted, to eat that dessert you've been eyeing and denied yourself the last few times you went out, or to simply go buy a cup of coffee and sit only in your own company and people watch.

What I'll be doing is sharing with you how I've been treating myself. I usually try to do something once a week that will make me happy. It's the only way I'll be able to stay sane during graduate school! I go to Boston College which is no easy feat, as I'm sure you can imagine. I love my studies but I've had to become creative with how to find happiness in all the simple things in life so that I don't drown in my program. Thus my mantra, thus this blog, thus... thus... thus...

I'll be posting later this week my first true "treat yourself" moment of the week! Thanks for taking time to read my blog and I hope I can continue to pique your interest week to week with what I hope are exciting adventures in self care! Have a fabulous week and as I've said numerous times through this post... go on and TREAT YOURSELF!

Love and blessings,

Melissa <3
